will 735f677815 Extract shared Commons for Prime/Terce/Sext/None minor-hour content
Deploy / deploy (push) Successful in 57s
A systematic diff across all 29 duplex-majus+ saints' P/T/S/N files found
real shared-Common groups beyond the pairs noticed in passing while
authoring them. Extracted into shared data/propers/common/{hour}-antiphon-
common-of-*.yml / {hour}-capitulum-common-of-*.yml files and wired via a
new SaintRecord.minorHoursCommon field, with resolveMinorHourAntiphon/
resolveMinorHourChapter falling back to it when a saint has no proper file
of their own. Deliberately a separate field from the existing (previously
unused) `common` field: the minor hours don't always draw from the same
Common category as the saint's overall classification -- both Chair of
St. Peter feasts are `common: common-of-an-apostle` by rank, but their
P/T/S/N content is Common of a Confessor Bishop (Peter considered as
bishop of that see).

Four groups extracted (87 duplicate files collapsed to 21 shared ones),
each confirmed byte-identical via diff first: common-of-apostles (8
saints, all 4 hours), common-of-a-confessor-bishop (Chair of Peter pair
share antiphons+chapters, Martin of Tours shares only chapters), common-
of-the-bvm (Nativity BVM + Immaculate Conception's Sext/None/Terce
chapters -- the Assumption's own stay proper, different reading + proper
versicles), and common-of-st-peter (St. Peter ad Vincula + Ss. Peter and
Paul, not a real Common category, just genuinely identical Petrine
content).

Deliberately left un-extracted: St. Mark, St. John Before the Latin Gate,
and Ss. Philip and James share identical text that live-checking shows is
Paschaltide-seasonal (all three landed within the Easter octave weeks on
their queried dates, despite disagreeing `common` classifications) rather
than a fixed per-saint-category Common -- folding it into the same
mechanism would misrepresent season-contingent content as timeless. Left
as individually-authored files; flagged in TODO.md as needing a real
Paschaltide-awareness mechanism this app doesn't have yet for any hour.

will 6dad25fef6 Author Prime/Terce/Sext/None antiphons+chapters for all 29 duplex-majus+ saints
Completes the P/T/S/N minor-hour override backlog started with St. Lawrence:
every duplex-majus+ saint not blocked by a missing collect (propers: null)
now has its own antiphon (all four hours) and chapter (Terce/Sext/None) text,
live-verified against Divinum Officium (Monastic Tridentinum 1617).

Two saints needed corrections to the reference engine's own data rather than
straight extraction: St. Scholastica's minor hours have no English rendering
in the source at all (English/SanctiM only covers Matins for her), so the
English is translated here directly and marked draft; the Immaculate
Conception's antiphons render with diacritics stripped relative to the
word-for-word-parallel Nativity BVM antiphon, so accentuation is restored
to match and marked draft. Several saints share identical Common of Apostles
or Common of the BVM content, confirmed via diff before reuse.

`all-saints-of-the-benedictine-order`, `st-michael`, `st-maurus-abbot`,
`ss-placid-and-companions`) — those still need a collect authored first.
Two saints (`st-scholastica`, `immaculate-conception`) needed corrections

English rendering at all in the source (Matins-only English coverage for
that saint) — translated directly, `status.en: draft` throughout;

### Prime/Terce/Sext/None Commons extraction (2026-08)
After the P/T/S/N batch above landed, a systematic diff across all 29
saints' files (not just the pairs noticed in passing during authoring)
turned up real shared-Common groups, extracted into `data/propers/common/
{hour}-antiphon-common-of-*.yml` / `{hour}-capitulum-common-of-*.yml`
files and wired via a new `SaintRecord.minorHoursCommon` field
(`calendar/feasts.ts`) — `resolveMinorHourAntiphon`/`resolveMinorHourChapter`
(`hours/resolve-common.ts`) now fall back to it when a saint has no proper
file of their own for a given hour. Deliberately a *separate* field from
the existing (until now unused) `common` field: live-verified the minor
hours don't always draw from the same Common category as the saint's
overall classification (see the Confessor-Bishop group below) — reusing
`common` directly would have gotten that case wrong.
Four groups extracted, all confirmed byte-identical via `diff` first, none
assumed from category alone:
- **`common-of-apostles`** (all 4 hours, antiphon + chapter): st-matthias,
st-barnabas, st-james-the-greater, st-thomas-apostle, ss-simon-and-jude,
st-luke, st-matthew, st-bartholomew — 8 saints, 56 duplicate files
collapsed to 7 shared ones.
- **`common-of-a-confessor-bishop`**: chair-of-st-peter-at-rome and
chair-of-st-peter-at-antioch share all 4 hours' antiphons *and*
chapters; st-martin-of-tours shares only the chapters (his own
antiphons are proper, about his own life). Real finding, not a
modeling choice: both Chair feasts are `common: common-of-an-apostle`
in their own saint record (Peter's rank/collect classification), but
their P/T/S/N content comes from the Common of a Confessor Bishop
instead — Peter considered *as bishop* of that particular see, for
that specific commemoration.
- **`common-of-the-bvm`** (chapter only, Terce/Sext/None): nativity-bvm
and immaculate-conception share all three; their own antiphons stay
proper (per-mystery). The Assumption's Sext/None chapters share the
same *reading body* (Sir 24:15-16, 24:19-20) but close with her own
proper versicles rather than the Common's plain ones, and her Terce
chapter is a different reading entirely (Sir 24:11-12, not 24:14) — a
first-class feast's proper office outranking the plain Common, kept as
her own fully proper files rather than force-fit into the shared one.
- **`common-of-st-peter`** (None antiphon, all 3 chapters): st-peter-ad-
vincula and ss-peter-and-paul. Not a real liturgical Common category —
both feasts are specifically about St. Peter himself, so his own
proper texts get reused directly. Extracted anyway since the content
really is identical, just named honestly rather than dressed up as a
Common of Saints class.
**Deliberately left un-extracted — a genuine open question, not an
oversight:** st-mark and st-john-before-the-latin-gate share identical
antiphons *and* chapters across all 4 hours, and ss-philip-and-james
shares just the chapters with those two — but live-checking the season
line on each saint's own queried date showed all three landing *within
Paschaltide* that year ("infra Hebdomadam N post Octavam Paschæ"), for
three otherwise-unrelated saints (an Evangelist and two separate Apostle
feasts) whose overall `common` classification doesn't even agree with
each other. That strongly suggests this shared "Alleluia" text is a
Paschaltide *seasonal* override, not a fixed per-saint-category Common —
meaning the app has no mechanism today to know whether it's still
correct in a year where Easter lands late enough to push these fixed
dates (Apr 25, May 1, May 6) past Pentecost. Left as three small,
individually-authored (already diff-verified) per-saint files rather than
folded into `minorHoursCommon`, which would misrepresent this as
timeless, unconditional content. Fixing it properly needs a real
Paschaltide-awareness mechanism for minor-hour content (this app has none
yet for any hour) — flagged here, not attempted.
