Douay-Rheims's "physicians" is a literal rendering of the Vulgate's
"medici," itself a mistranslation of Hebrew Rephaim (the shades of
Sheol). Replace with "shades" for clarity, matching modern
translations (RSV/NRSV/NABRE).
